Everything we do at Grace Heartland Church is aimed at one goal - bringing people to Christ, and yes, nurseries have a big part in reaching that goal. Listed below are three of our main reasons for having the best Nursery program we can.
Babies and toddlers can be a great distraction. They could be quiet in the Worship Service and still keep the people around them occupied with gestures, toys, etc. We want people in the congregation to hear every word sung or spoken in the service. We want every word grasped, for nothing is more important than the preaching of the Word of God. When children cry or can be heard in any other way, they do cause interruption of the Worship Service.
NOTE: If your infant or young child is in the Worship Service with you, please be seated in an aisle seat. This is a courtesy and shows respect to those around you and for those leading worship and preaching, should you have to leave the service abruptly.
Babies are just more comfortable in their own place. They rest better, can be fed and changed, and can even make their own kind of noise without causing distraction. Toddlers are growing fast, with much energy in their little bodies. It is hard for them not to move about. There is real freedom for them to move or jabber aloud in their own area.
The Nursery releases parents or guardians for service. There are many Sunday School teachers, worship team members and singers, ushers, Jubilee team members, who could not be part of God's work with their little ones around them. With the best Nursery facilities and staff available, they can be of service and participate in these ministries, feeling confident that their children are being given the best of care.
We want to acquaint you with our Nursery Center. We want to help you cooperate more fully with the Nursery Staff and volunteers for the best interests of our babies and small children. Our hope is that you will feel confident that your child's needs are being met and that you will be able to leave your child with our staff while you attend The Bible Fellowship Hour and Worship Services of Grace Heartland Church. Our nursery serves children ages three and under during the Worship Services.
- No one is to enter the Nursery or Childcare Rooms except the nursery staff/volunteers and the child being cared for in that respective classroom. We provide a sign-in sheet for all services and will gladly assist the parents at the door. Please fill this sheet out completely, this is for your child's safety and protection. The procedure provides the children and our staff with the best ease of adjustment.
- After signing in please leave your child and diaper bag as quickly as possible. We are qualified to care properly for your child, and he/she will adjust more satisfactorily if you do not linger. Remember, you have provided us with all the necessary information as you signed in...so if we need you, we know where to come and get you.
- Do not bring a sick child to the Nursery or Childcare Center where he/she can cause infection of others. Some signs of illness in a child are:
- unusual fatigue or irritability
- coughing, sneezing, runny nose and eyes
- fever
- vomiting or diarrhea
- inflamed mouth and throat
- Please label your child's items. We suggest the following items equip your diaper bag:
- four to six disposable diapers
- baby wipes
- bottles-enough for baby's stay (well-labeled bottles)
- pacifier (if applicable)
- complete change of clothing
You may use waterproof ink or masking tape to label diaper bags and individual items.
- Please note that breast fed babies are to be fed in the ladies lounge. We provide a rocking chair for mother and as much privacy as possible. A speaker system is now in place for your listening during the worship service. A changing table is available in the handicap stall.
- It is best not to come to the Nursery to see your child until you are ready to leave. You will be notified immediately if an emergency should arise.
Children are a gift from God. We desire to provide these children with the security they need, as well as provide our parents with the security of knowing that their child/children are well cared for in our Nursery.
